Our church regularly reaches out to others through mission projects locally, nationally and globally.  Every month our communion offering supports a different community partner or mission organization.  Each month we collect critical items for people in need.  Twice a month we support the Divide Food Pantry through adult and youth participation.  Habitat for Humanity, Help the Needy, the YMCA, Marion House, and others have benefited from our volunteers.  In times of disaster we support UMCOR through our “Ugly Bucket” contributions.  We have also supported specific missionaries in Haiti, Sudan, Cambodia and Uganda.  All of these efforts combine to reflect God’s love to the world!

Local Mission Work

The opportunity to serve others is a sacred responsibility, which we take seriously at Mountain View UMC. Matthew 25 invites us to reach out to the least of these, serving the least and lost. At our church children, youth, and adults participate in missions and serving others locally, nationally, and globally.

A few of our recent mission sites where we served physically or through monetary donations are the following:

Mission Trips

Family Missions:  Bringing families together through mission projects where the young and old can work side by side in  the service of others.

Mission Giving: Opportunities for financial sharing with One Great Hour of Sharing and Worldwide Communion, UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief).

Home Support: Helping mission trip participants by taking care of their pets, plants, homes, and other odd jobs that allow them to be away.

Adult Missions:

• LaPuente in Alamosa, Colorado

• Mission Partner with Ken Cruz, agriculture  and community development in Cambodia and South Asia
